Glazed Meatballs – Great as Mini Bites and Canapes

Beef Meatballs that are glazed with this delicious Asian

sauce. It’s great for parties or as a snack

Meatballs

If you ever get brain freeze on what to bring to a party or what to make if you’re the host for a party, why not consider making these Mini Meatballs? These meatballs are the perfect size for your little tea time snack. They also make good Canapes since they are pretty small and you can easily use a toothpick to pop it into your mouth.

Homemade Meatballs

Making your own meatballs from scratch can be pretty rewarding. It doesn’t involve alot of time to prepare and everyone loves them. You get to decide what goes into each meatballs as well. I love using ground beef to make mine. You can always use mince pork or broccoli ( Should you decide to go meatless- I made some Broccoli patties that were out of this world. You might wanna check those out).

The rest of the ingredients are easily available at any Supermarket such as NTUC, Cold Storage etc. Mince (Beef/pork/Veg), panko crumbs to bind the entire batter together, egg, garlic, salt, sesame seeds and that’s about it! The Meatball glaze leans more towards the Asian taste. It consist of Hoisin and Sesame oil. I added in a touch of Sirarcha for heat. AND BECAUSE we all know I’m a sucker for spicy food. Well…. you can always leave that out but it’s nice to have that little kick in your meatballs.

Glazed Meatballs

My My My. Look at how delicious that Glaze is.. When you eat the meatballs when it comes out hot from the oven, it really is that delicious. I went the healthier route by baking them instead of frying them. That’s where you get all the juice sealed in the meatballs.

It’s always good to make extra as you can always freeze them and dump them into your pasta whenever those rainy days call for it. I’m still dreaming about these and if you ever make them, I hope you like them as much as I do 🙂
