This Giant Heart cookie will make your Valentine go awwwwwww.
It will melt her heart instantly.
I baked this Giant Heart Cookie for my Valentine this year. It was something different from the years of cake I’ve been giving. This year i wanted to give my Whole HEART! ( I mean i do every year) just in different dessert forms.
This year was something gingery, something buttery, something less cakey.. It was a Giant Gingerbread heart cookie with cream cheese frosting and handmade fondant pink roses.

It’s pretty simple to construct the entire Giant heart cookie from scratch. Just some basic ingredients, piping and assembly and tada!!! An edible heart baked from the heart.
First to get started, you’ll need the following basic tools/ ingredients:
- One large heart cookie cutter and another smaller one
- 2 Giant heart cookies ( Made from your favourite Cookie Recipe)
- One Batch of Cream Cheese frosting
- One empty bowl ( to mix the pink gel into the cream cheese frosting)
- Wilton Pink Gel
- Wilton Round decorating tip ( I use Wilton 2A )
- Piping Bag
- Fruits for decoration ( Optional)
- Fondant Flowers for decorating ( Check out how I made some of these fondant flowers here)
- Dried Rose Petals ( For Decor)
The First Step of making your giant heart cookie
You’ll need to make a batch of your favourite sugar cookie recipe. I use my all time favourite Gingerbread cookie recipe ( Nobody says gingerbread cookies are for Christmas Baking only). Then using a giant heart shape cookie cutter, cut out the shape on the cookie dough. Using another smaller heart shape cookie cutter, place the cutter in the middle of the dough and cut out a smaller heart shape so you end up with a cookie with a heart cut out in the middle. I use Wilton From The Heart Nesting Cookie Cutter Set.It comes with 2 different heart shape cookie cutters smooth edges + 2 other heart cutters with jagged edges. Pretty fancy i must say!
How to go about assembling the Giant Heart Cookie?
After that, you need a batch of white frosting. It can be cream cheese, buttercream etc. Use some Pink gel to color part of the frosting. Fill the colored frosting into a piping bag and pipe mini dots on the top side of one of the heart cookie.

Place the other cookie on top of the fully piped cookie and set in fridge for about 2-3 mins. This is to prevent the frosting from “smashing” when you top the cookie with your decoration ( fruits + flowers).

Lastly. Camwhore all the way! Isnt this Giant Heart Cookie the perfect gift to your Valentine? The color is so sweet. Feel free to play around with your favourite colors. I’m pretty sure a Lavender or sky blue piping will do the trick as well.
