The inspiration of this cake came from a food photography show where 3 contestants compete to make a food item according to the ingredients given to them, have their food photographed and best picture wins! One particularly memorable one was the sundae challenge. Everyone knows heat and ice cream don’t go hand in hand so the contestants made “fake ice cream” look real by using mash potatoes so they wont melt under the heat.
Second inspiration obviously came from the person I was making this for- a pasta, meat and cheese lover. In this case I decided to go for the vanilla butter cream to represent the pasta, red velvet cake balls to represent the meat balls, strawberry jam to represent the sauce, white chocolate shavings to represent cheese.
