Gula Melaka Coconut Crumbs


Coincidence. Sometimes things might work better that way.  Look closely. These are not granola bits but gula melaka coconut crumbs. Perfect for frosting the sides of the cake. 

More Gula Melaka More Gula Melaka. Those were the words of my friend, constantly ringing at the back of my mind. That was all I could think of even before assembling the cake. Desiccated Coconut + a drizzle of gula melaka baked at 160 deg for a few min till well toasted and crispy. 

Oh they are so good, you could eat them from the spoon or right when you pull that tray out of the oven. (Guilty!) 


This recipe is so simple, it could be put together in a matter of seconds. 

Ingredients:

Gula Melaka
Dessiccated coconut ( Depending on how much you need)


Steps: 

1) Melt the block of gula melaka over the stove till melted. Add water to thin out the syrup as needed. 

2) Pour over dessiccated coconut and mix well with a spoon

3) Bake at 160deg for 15 min or till well toasted and crispy
